26 Week Preggie Update...Warning: EMO post

26 weeks has arrived!  According to my many apps, Baby B is about 2 pounds and measures about 9.5 to 14 inches.  The baby's eyes have been closed and they have finally re-opened this week. Baby B can also hear noises and respond to them.  I have found that he/she really likes music and moves A LOT.

This has been a different week for me as I've been feeling pretty good physically, but have been emotionally bothered I guess I could say.  First off, I wish I had an accurate scale so that I knew if I was on target for weight gain, because my current scale sucks and the one that I want, it's kind of expensive, so I'm trying to adult and and not make rash decisions!

Secondly, I am now visibly pregnant and I'm not hiding it.  This also means that people in public see it as well and it's not denying it.  I get the "oh how many months are you" question and respond and they are like "oh, I asked because you're so small" or "you are so tiny" (meaning my body...not my belly) or my favorite "when I was xx months, I was way bigger than you".  I get that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it kind of makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong and makes me question my actions.  The questions go through my head of:

Am I gaining enough weight?
Am I doing harm to my baby?
Is my stomach supposed to be bigger?
What could I be doing differently?

It kind of hurts.  Then I get kind of angry and say to myself that people need to mind their business.  I know my husband gets tired of me asking everyday if my stomach looks smaller.  His response is always "definitely not".  I know that depending on the baby's position, my belly shape changes, so that plays a part.  Also, what I ate for the day and time of the day affects the shape as well.  I don't know if people were expecting me to get balloon sized or what.

I know from research that according to my Normal BMI, I'm only supposed to gain 25-35 pounds my total pregnancy.  Right now, I have gained about 11 pounds (it'd probably be more if I had an accurate scale) with 3 months to go.  That's not bad right??  I've been a pretty healthy eater and I eat when I'm hungry, which is 3 times a day with snacks in between.  My baby is also moving constantly, so I know that it's doing alright.  I'm just venting I guess because it is kind of irritating.

Now, for the physical things...I've had more trouble finding a comfortable spot when sleeping.  I toss and turn ALL NIGHT.  I have a pregnancy pillow but I don't think it works that well for me.  I also have slight pain at the bottom of my bump, which comes and goes throughout the day.  It helps when I hold it up, as I am carrying low, so maybe it's time to invest in that belly support.  I have also had some back pain, but it's been manageable.

I hope week 27 is a little better and I get off this emotional rollercoaster.  My OB appointment is on Friday and I'm going to express my concerns to her.

25 Week Preggie Update

Hello loves!  25 weeks here!  The July 4th holiday weekend just ended and I'm getting back into the swing of things after my 4 day weekend.  It was a bit chilly.  We have 6 more days of summer school left and I can't wait to be done.  We also announced our pregnancy on social media this week.  I was anti at first, but I wanted to be able to share the joys of our pregnancy, so I caved in.

Not too many changes have been happening on my end.  I always feel like I'm the same size until I take a bump update pic and can see.  I feel like I'm starting to just get wider in the belly area...not really growing outward.  I have been a little bit more uncomfortable though and I can feel my belly stretching on the sides and in my back.  I still have no stretch marks, which is a plus!  One thing that I noticed is that my hips are easier to slightly pop out of place.  I must have turned wrong the other day and gosh, did it hurt my inner pelvis!  I need to be more careful about quick turns and sudden movements.

According to all my apps OvulineWhat To Expect and Baby Center, Baby B is 13.5-14 inches and weighs about 1.7 pounds, so he/she is starting to pack on some fat and looking less wrinkly.  He/she's capillaries are forming and filling with blood and air sacks are continuing to get better to take their first breath.  The baby's nostrils have also started to open and the vocal cords are further developing!  Baby B is also growing more hair and it actually has color and texture to it.

In addition to the bump pic this week, I've included some pics from the holiday weekend...just for a little fun!

Yummy!

24 Week Preggie Update

Sorry that I missed last week loves.  I don't  have a good reason for writing a post other than I got lazy and didn't feel like taking a picture, haha.  But we're back at 24 weeks and feeling great!  I don't feel like I look that great though, but, meh...

Anywho, Baby B is the size of an ear of corn!  I can't believe it.  According to all my apps OvulineWhat To Expect and Baby Center, Baby B is starting to develop surfactant in his/her lungs to help them breathe on the outside.  Pretty much everything is developed except the lungs.  It's important for Baby B to stay inside this pretty little belly until as close to Oct 18 as possible so that a huge amount of medical care won't be needed upon arrival.

Speaking of pretty little belly, I feel like the inside may not look so pretty, haha.  Baby B moves around A LOT.  It went from no movement, to little rolls, to all out punches and kicks...it also just went from in the evening to all day now. It's really amazing, but sometimes, I'm trying to focus and then the movement comes and I can't help but smile.  I think I even felt some hiccups :)

We went to the doctor on Monday and everything is going as it should and I'm measuring where I should be at 24 weeks.  I'm at 120 pounds now, the heaviest that I have been in my life.  I'm also starting to notice that my arms are starting to accumulate some extra cushion...if you know what I mean.  AJ says my butt is getting bigger and of course my boobs.

What else, oh, I started my registry and  I think I'm almost done.  I did most of it online, but Sunday, my wonderful mother and I went out and looked at some things in person to help make some final decisions.  I have a registry at BuyBuyBaby and MyRegistry.com  (universal registry).  Shopping for a baby is so overwhelming, especially when you are #TeamGreen.  There are so many cute things, but you don't want to get something that's too boyish or girly.    So I've been sticking to mostly gray with a couple green and yellow things.

A high this week (and last) is that AJ is able to feel the baby kick.  He gets so excited that I find that when we are just laying around watching Netflix, he places his hand on my belly without me pointing anything out.  A low this week is developing heartburn.  I had a mild case before pregnancy, but this has become daily.  It's not a big deal, it's just annoying.

I know that I said I'd be consistent with my outfit, but I just got home from work and I didn't feel like changing clothes yet, haha...another moment of laziness! :)

Question:  When did you have your baby shower??  Was it early or close to your due date?
XOXO,
Crystal
